*1-8-2026 I drove by the trailhead this afternoon just to see what the conditions are. The road was partially ice/dusting of snow and rutted as always and I'm guessing it will be icy terrain in spots. BRING YAKS, wear sturdy hiking boots, pole(s), water, snack, dress in layers and come prepared with 10 Essentials.

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY AND KEEP YOUR RSVP CURRENT. If you don't have YAKS I probably won't allow you to go.I love this hike. It's got a mixture of terrain, scenery and beauty. Please Arrive early, come prepared. Bring water, poles, snack, proper hiking snow boot/shoes, ARRIVE EARLY, have your 10 essential (https://americanhiking.org/10essentials/) AND a happy attitude.

This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are March through November."
