This is an out-and-back trail near Bend, Oregon. Generally considered an easy route. This trail is great for running and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. When passing through private property easements and right-of-ways it is especially important to stay on the path and respect posted guidance. Local officials and private landowners work in partnership to provide public access to this area. Staying on the path while on private property ensures that agreements between local officials and the landowner are upheld and that this trail remains open to the public in the future.
RISK We are all adults and everyone needs to understand their own risk profile, especially in regards to COVID-19. In the same way as there are physical risks when hiking or kayaking, we now need to add the risk of virus infection, more so than in the past. It should go without saying there has always been a small risk of catching the flu, or food poisoning, or slipping on a trail and rolling an ankle or fracturing a hip while participating in Meetup Events. Now we have to add the increased risk of contracting (or passing along) COVID-19. Let's see if we can do a few events and follow community guidelines. Social Distancing. LOTS of hand washing. Plenty of social distancing, masks, sanitizers, common sense. We know there is mixed information and guidance regarding masks from CDC and other agencies - we will of course follow the local venue recommendations as to mask requirements. A mask will not 100% prevent transmission nor contracting COVID-19, but it does reduce the chances of spreading germs. Again - everyone will need to make their own decision on acceptable risks.

Anyone attending any posted event assumes all personal risk to themselves. If this makes you nervous, we understand & kindly ask you to stay away for now and hopefully we will see you in the future.
