What we’re about
🐾If you’re 50–69 and single, you already know this: our dogs aren’t just pets — they’re our heart, our family, our daily joy.
I created this group for single men and women 50–69 who want to meet like-minded people in a fun, relaxed, outdoorsy way — with our four-legged best friends right beside us.
- No awkward apps.
- No pressure.
- Just nature, conversation, connection… and dogs who do half the socializing for us.
And honestly? Anything could happen.
- Your dog might fall in love.
- You might fall in love.
- You might meet a new best friend.
- You might have a great conversation that stays with you.
- Or you might simply enjoy fresh air, movement, and a little more joy in your week.
And yes — this group is for men too.
People who love dogs tend to be some of the kindest, most grounded, most genuine humans. And if you're open to meeting new people (and letting your dog help break the ice), this is an easy, relaxed way to connect with amazing women in a natural, no-pressure environment.
The possibilities are endless — and life is meant to be shared with people who truly love dogs.
Group Size
To keep things safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for all dogs (and humans!), each walk is limited to 10 people and their dog. If you have two dogs that's ok please specify dogs breed etc, when answering the questions. (2 max per person). First to RSVP get the spots. If the group grows — and it may — I’ll add additional hikes.
Schedule
Most walks will take place Saturday mornings from 10:00–10:30 a.m., with occasional Sunday mornings or afternoon hikes added based on demand. All hikes are local, about one hour at a relaxed-paced.
Dog lovers without dogs are also welcome — because sometimes the connection starts long before the leash.
If you're ready for a new way to meet wonderful people who love dogs, love nature, and love good conversation… welcome. This might be the beginning of something beautiful — for you and your dog
🐕 BREED COMPATIBILITY NOTE
I want to share this openly so everyone feels safe and comfortable:
My own dog (an 80 lb golden doodle) had a traumatic incident with a “bully-type” breed and now has fear aggression around similar breeds.
I know your dog is probably wonderful — this isn’t about judgment.
But for his comfort and everyone’s safety, this group is not a good fit for:
• Bully-type breeds
• Mastiffs
• Pit Bulls
• Boxers
• German Shepherds
This group is meant to be relaxed, enjoyable, and stress-free for both humans and dogs.
If your dog falls into one of these categories, thank you for understanding — there are many wonderful breed-specific hiking groups that will be a better fit.
Location Note:
All hikes stay close to home — Oakville is our main spot, with a few trails in Mississauga and Burlington sprinkled in. A perfect loop for paws and possibilities. 🐾

To help cover Meetup organizer costs and keep this group running, there is a small $10 annual fee. You can e-transfer or pay in person at your first event. Once your membership request is approved, I’ll share the email address for e-transfer.
