The Rideau Valley Sanctuary is a charity in North Gower that rehabilitates injured and orphaned wild mammals and turtles and returns them to the wild. They need help June 5, 6, 7, 8 for their Open House event. It is in conjunction with Doors Open Ottawa (RAIN OR SHINE) on June 6-7, 11:00am to 4:00pm. We expect more than 1,000 visitors a day!

Event Details
Shifts are 4 hours and a variety of roles are needed . . . installing tents, tables and chairs; tear-down after the event; welcome tent; directing traffic and parking; bake sale station; silent auction tables; merchandise table; 50/50 tickets and raffle sales; bbqing, food sales and service; kids zone games; face painting; photo booth; donation/payment stations; eating and relaxing area, general help and more.
We have free snacks and drinks on June 5 and 8, and free vegan lunch and drinks on June 6 and 7. We also have bug spray and sunscreen but you might want to bring your own. All of our stations are under tents however bring raingear if the weather calls for it. There is free parking but be prepared for a short walk. Volunteers are welcome to join the event before or after their shift.

June 5 setup 9am - 1pm and 1pm-5pm
June 6 prep and Open house 9am-1pm and 12pm to 4pm
June 7 Open house 10am-2pm and 1pm to 5pm
June 8 tear down 9am - 1pm and 1pm-5pm
