Come un bookclub ma per i podcast. Ogni mese ci ritroviamo per parlare di un podcast che abbiamo ascoltato e scambiarci pareri, opinioni e consigli su nuovi e possibili ascolti.

Questo mese ascoltiamo "Mia madre, un caso di cronaca", un podcast di Maria Grazia Calandrone, prodotto da RAI Radio 3.

Il podcast include anche letture tratte dal libro "Dove non mi hai portata", pubblicato da Einaudi e finalista al Premio Strega 2023, interpretate dalla stessa Calandrone e accompagnate dalle musiche del compositore Fabrizio De Rossi Re. Chi avrà voglia, potrà non solo ascoltare il podcast, ma anche leggere il libro, che è disponibile gratuitamente in biblioteca (previa iscrizione al servizio).

Una narrazione, articolata in otto puntate, in cui l’autrice ripercorre la storia di sua madre Lucia, a partire dalle testimonianze raccolte a Palata, in Molise, fino al tragico epilogo a Roma. La vicenda si colloca in un periodo storico in cui l’adulterio era considerato reato, i figli venivano ancora definiti “illegittimi” e non avevano protezione legale, mentre la violenza domestica passava spesso sotto silenzio.

Il podcast include anche letture tratte dal libro Dove non mi hai portata, pubblicato da Einaudi e finalista al Premio Strega 2023, interpretate dalla stessa Calandrone e accompagnate dalle musiche del compositore Fabrizio De Rossi Re. ### Mia madre, un caso di cronaca

In this eight-episode narrative, the author traces the story of her mother, Lucia, beginning with eyewitness accounts from the village of Palata in Molise and leading to its tragic conclusion in Rome. The events unfold during a time in Italian history when adultery was still considered a crime, children born out of wedlock were legally unprotected and labeled as “illegitimate,” and domestic violence often remained unspoken.

As well as listening to the podcast and reading the book, we’ll take the opportunity during the event to reflect on how the medium changes the way a story is told—comparing the emotional depth and nuances conveyed through audio storytelling with those of the written word.

### What is P.A.Z. – Podcast Ascolti Zurigo?

The best way to discover a great podcast is through word of mouth. Usually, that happens on social media. P.A.Z. (Podcast Ascolti Zurigo) was created to explore new podcasts and discuss them with others—in person. Like a book club, but for podcasts.

#### Is there an entry fee?

The event is free (it would be nice to know how many of us are coming, so if you can, RSVP for free here). Everyone is free to order something at the bar at their own expense.

#### Do I need to have listened to the entire podcast?

No, you can come even if you haven't heard the entire podcast (but it's better if you have).

#### Is the podcast to listen to always in Italian?

Yes, currently, P.A.Z. aims to focus on Italian-language podcasts, and anyone who speaks Italian is welcome.
