Pensacola Opera will present the drama "The Falling and the Rising" on Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21 at the UWF Center for Performing Arts. We will plan on attending Friday night, November 20.

"The Falling and the Rising" chronicles the imagined journey of a soldier suspended inside a coma, following an injury from a roadside IED. We follow as she makes her way through a miraculous dreamscape—one punctuated with the lives of other fellow service members, each on their own individual journey toward healing and home. Together, they must move toward clarity, comfort, consciousness, and communal hope during a time of adversity.

Tickets are $30 each and may be purchased online at PensacolaOpera.com. When the UWF box office re-opens in August I will check to see if tickets can be purchased there (perhaps saving the service charge).

If there is sufficient interest we may meet for dinner before the performance.

NOTE: Pensacola Opera is inviting Pensacola-area veterans, reservists, and active-duty military personnel to be part of the performance as "extras" for the show's musical finale for both the Friday and Saturday night performances. For more information, contact Pensacola Opera through the website:
