PDX Urban Photo Walk: Portland Saturday Market at the Waterfront

Details
A photo walk at the Portland Saturday Market. This is a great area for street and urban photography, with waterfront scenes, shopping and dining locations, crafts and vendors with lots of shoppers, plus lots of eclectic architecture and people .... oh, and Voodoo Donuts.

Some thoughts on group photography on the street:
- - We meet at the start location to begin, but as photographers, we will disperse.
- - We meet at the start location to finish, so we know everyone survived, and close with some thoughts.
- - Feel free to stay longer downtown. I am intending to have lunch if anyone wants to join me.
- - If you must leave early or choose not to meet at the end, let me or another photographer know.
- - Be respectful of others' privacy and dignity, especially of people in need.
- - If you aren't comfortable with street photography, I suggest watching some YouTube videos on the subject.
We will meet in front of Dan & Louis Oyster Bar, 208 SW Ankeny St, Portland, OR 97204.
Parking is not free on Saturday. Parking Kitty is available in the area.
For a more secure and less expensive travel option, I will be riding the Max Right Rail from the Sunset Transit Station to the Skidmore Fountain Station. This stop is right next to the market. Note, this Max stop is planned to be closed permanently in August of 2025, due to lack of ridership.

The 10-day weather forecast shows partly cloudy with no rain and comfortable temperatures for this 2-hour window. If the forecast changes, I still intend to be there for the photographic opportunity.
If you sign up and realize you must change plans, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" so that others may have the opportunity.
My hiking style is to pay attention to our surroundings and take photos of whatever captures my eye. Please do not expect this to be a fast-paced hike. It’s important to stop, see, and feel our world!
Know that I am a passionate hobbyist photographer, not a “pro”, not a camera expert, nor a classroom teacher. This is not a photo workshop, we are shooting for pleasure, perhaps asking questions and sharing tips on composition and photo processing.
Smartphone cameras are good for this walk, but bring whatever gear you want.
We can learn from others about photography, culture, history, and geography in our environment.
WHAT TO BRING:
Best behavior.
Sunscreen or rain gear and layers, depending on the weather.
Good footwear.
Water/snack if needed.
Smartphone, dedicated camera, anything to capture your art.
WHAT NOT TO BRING:
Anything illicit or illegal
