Let's talk movies! Join PMC member Cat O. to discuss Guillermo del Toro's debut film Cronos.

A bit about the film:
Guillermo del Toro is currently a celebrated director who emphasizes tales featuring horror, gothic fantasies, and monsters. He currently has three films (Pan's Labyrinth, The Shape of Water, and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio) that have earned Academy Awards including best picture and best director. As of today, his most recent film, Frankenstein, received nine nominations.

This movie meet up brings us back to 1992, when he debuted with his first feature film, Cronos. The film was distributed through the independent studio October Films and depicts an ancient mechanism created by an alchemist that falls into the hands of an aging, present day antique dealer. It blends the supernatural with the human condition of facing mortality and what it means to be connected with one another through his signature gothic lens.

Tips:
This picture can be streamed through Amazon, Prime Videos, and Prime. However, if you want to support local films, it can be rented at Movie Madness or viewed in theaters at Cinema 21 (1/23 at 9:45 pm or 1/24 at 9:45 pm).

del Toro tends to be on the tamer side of horror but given the genre of the spotlight, please take care of yourselves and use resources such as "does the dog die" to look up CWs if you feel it is needed.

This will take place on a Sunday at Lucky Lab.
