What's in your toolbox? A Go primer from a PHP perspective
Details
Learn something interesting while you have a great time connecting with the fabulous PHP Community!
If you're working with PHP, you're probably working with more languanges that you realize. I'm sure you're at least familiar with HTML, CSS, JS, and probably some BASH and maybe even some YAML, TOML, or Groovy. And that's just part of the classic web stack to get a site from development to production. You might have worked with other scripting languages too, like Ruby or Python, and maybe you've even taken Javascript out of the browser and gave Node.js a try. Good for you!
At OFC, we also love the open source language Go released by Google. Learning any new language comes with a steep learning curve, and it can help if we are approaching topics from the same perspective. This will be a high level overview of the Go programming Language from a PHP developers perspecitve. Like all my talks, we'll have some slides, but we'll also dive into the code to look at some examples in real time.
