Want to dance the night (before Valentine's Day) away to 2000s music?! This is a special 2000s Dance Flashback party in the beautiful and spacious Crystal Ballroom… and the DJ will be sprinkling in some “lovers slow jams” throughout the night.

So come get low and lose yourself in the music with your fellow single music/dance lovers... and if there's anyone in da club you can't get out of your head, make sure to ask them to dance when a slow song comes on. If they like the way you move, they might just decide you’re irreplaceable. (Sorry y'all. Kind of.)

Here are the key deets:

  • Buy your ticket ahead of time as I suspect this will sell out. (They're $21.99 after fees.)
  • We'll get the party started at 7 near the Crystal Ballroom (very likely Ringlers Pub once I can reserve a spot with them) to socialize for about an hour before heading up to dance.
  • I'll give everyone a glow stick bracelet so we can spot people from our group more easily when we're dancing.
  • Inside the Crystal Ballroom we’ll have a few tables reserved for our Meetup group, so we’ll have a little base camp for people to hang out while they’re not dancing — and a place for people to leave their phone/purse/coat if they want to. (The Crystal Ballroom usually has a coat check that is something like $4 and only takes cash.)
  • Dress however you like. Some people will probably dress up a bit in general, and there may be some folks wearing their favorite 2000s fashion or a cupid costume or something.

Some ground rules:

  • If you ask someone to dance or get asked, please know that ‘yes’ and ‘no’ are totally valid answers that don’t require explanation (and anything that isn’t a yes is a no). But if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again… by asking someone else to dance.
  • All the normal Community Rules for the group apply, such as being respectful and kind, no harassing or overly forward behavior, don't touch anyone without explicit verbal consent, etc. If anyone breaks these rules or makes you feel uncomfortable, let Kristina (or a Crystal Ballroom employee) know as soon as possible.
  • Sorry, no womanizers or gold diggers.
