Care to get a little dirty and restore a natural area with like-minded folks? Let’s get together for Johnson Creek Watershed Council's* big annual Watershed Wide event and help improve wildlife habitat and water quality along this creek that stretches from the Cascade foothills to the Willamette River.

What to expect

  • We'll be planting young native plants, and possibly picking up trash.
  • Tools, training and gloves will be provided, and you don’t need any prior experience or certain level of strength or anything.
  • The volunteer event is from 8:45-12 (followed by lunch) and will be happening rain or shine.
  • For this special event, a free lunch will be delivered after the work party, if you'd like to stay. There should be meat and vegan options available.

RSVP + register
For this volunteer event, you need to register here: https://www.tfaforms.com/5208818 This event may fill up, so don't wait to register if you want to go. For more info on this event, go here.

Location + getting there
We're planting at Foster Floodplain Natural Area, which is right next to the Springwater Corridor Trail (and has bike racks), on bus lines 73 and 14, and just a bit east of I-205. Johnson Creek Watershed Council can provide bus fare to and from the event - email info@jcwc.org to arrange that.

Things you may want to bring / wear

  • Clothes that will keep you comfortable if it rains (avoid cotton/jeans if you can) and that you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Sturdy footwear that can get wet/dirty
  • Rain jacket
  • Hat
  • Water bottle & a snack
  • Change of clothes/shoes for afterwards, if you’d like

Have to cancel?
If you register and later have to cancel, please update both your RSVP here on Meetup AND let Johnson Creek Watershed Council know you can't make it.

*Johnson Creek Watershed Council is a local non-profit that works to restore Johnson Creek. They do a bunch of things like replacing small culverts that block fish passage, collecting data on the presence of various animals (like beavers and lamprey), removing trash from the creek during their Annual Johnson Creek Clean-Up, and working with people who own property along the creek/streams in the watershed to plant trees and shrubs for them at no cost.
