Care to get a little dirty and restore a natural area with like-minded folks? Let’s get together for Tryon Creek Watershed Council's big annual Watershed Wide event and help improve wildlife habitat and water quality along this creek in SW Portland.

What to expect

  • We'll be planting young native plants and/or removing invasive plants, depending on what's needed at our site.
  • Tools, training and gloves will be provided, and you don’t need any prior experience or certain level of strength or anything.
  • The volunteer event is from 9-12, and will be happening rain or shine. Let's meet up at 8:45 so we can say hi and find everyone else in our Meetup group.
  • After the work party, we're all invited to a celebration nearby at Riverdale High School. There will be free lunch (for everyone who selects what they want when they register) and pies for Pi Day. If you'd like to bring a pie, feel free!

RSVP + register
To volunteer with us, you need to #1 register here and #2 put "30s/40s Singles Meetup" in the field that asks if you're with a group so you'll end up at the same volunteer site as the rest of us.

Let's all choose the "I'm flexible" location option to make their lives easier, and they'll put us all together as long as we note the group we're with.

Things you may want to bring / wear

  • Clothes that will keep you comfortable if it rains (avoid cotton/jeans if you can) and that you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Sturdy footwear that can get wet/dirty
  • Rain jacket
  • Hat
  • Water bottle & a snack
  • Change of clothes/shoes for afterwards, if you’d like

Have to cancel?
If you register and later have to cancel, please update both your RSVP here on Meetup AND let Tryon Creek Watershed Council know you can't make it.
