Science Pub: The Chromatic Mind
Details
Join fellow science-minded singles for a Science Pub lecture, How Color Shapes Culture, Meaning, and Memory.
And if you have a nerdy/science-y t-shirt or something you'd want to wear for funsies or as a conversation starter, go for it! (This is totally optional, but I’ve worn a T-shirt before “Science, like Magic but Real”.)
Care to join?
- Get your ticket ahead of time (the suggested donation is $8) before it quite possibly sells out.
- Let's meet up at McMenamins Kennedy School Theater (probably just outside the main theatre entrance, if you get there after 6:00 look for us inside usually towards the front / left section) doors open at 6:00 so we can say hello, grab seats together, get a drink/snack, and chat a bit before the presentation starts at 7:00.
- Find Chris (I’ll wear a ridiculous Crown to make it easier) and introduce yourself.
Wait, what is this Science Pub event? This will be a casual lecture in a cool theater. Here's the blurb for the event: Color carries meaning across centuries, across cultures, across the aisle at the grocery store. Color is one of the most powerful and pervasive symbolic languages humans have ever developed, and its significance shifts constantly depending on who’s using it, and when.
