Science On Tap: How Did the Frog Cross the Road?

Forest Park and many forests west of the Cascades in Washington and Oregon are home to an adorable amphibian called the northern red-legged frog. But if these frogs want to find a mate and lay eggs, they have to leave their forest home and migrate to a wetland area... and increasingly, that journey means hopping across a road. In this talk, we'll learn more about these frogs and how people in the Portland area have been working to help them over the past decade — and get an early look at the new frog tunnel (!!) underneath Hwy 30 and how it's doing so far.
If you're single and love frogs almost as much as I do — or you're a little nerdy about science, conservation, amphibians, engineering, transportation, or learning new things — I hope you'll join me!
And if you have a nerdy/science-y t-shirt or something you'd want to wear for funsies or as a conversation starter, go for it! (This is totally optional, but Kristina will definitely use this as an excuse to bust out something nerdy.)

- Get your ticket before it quite possibly sells out. General admission tickets are $31.25 total (including all fees), and they also offer a discount option for students or anyone that can't afford the GA price right now.
- Let's meet up outside the Alberta Rose Theater so we can say hello before the doors open at 6, grab seats together, get a drink/snack, and chat a bit before the presentation starts.
- Find Kristina (I'll wear a ridiculous crown to make it easier) and introduce yourself.
- After the event, some folks may go to a nearby bar/restaurant to socialize more.
