If your formative Halloween years involved The Craft, Buffy, Hocus Pocus, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Scream, Halloweentown, black nail polish, velvet chokers, emo bangs, and at least one deeply questionable trip to Hot Topic, this one is for you. 🖤✨
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the 90s vs. 2000s Halloween Costume Glow Ball, and at this point it has basically earned Portland Halloween tradition status. The Crystal Ballroom gets transformed for the night, the giant screen is blasting 90s and 2000s music videos, and a LOT of people tend to show up ready to commit to the bit. 🎃🪩
Which also makes this a pretty fantastic singles Meetup. Big, ridiculous, high-energy events are perfect for meeting people because there is always something happening, something to talk about, and absolutely no expectation that you spend three hours making polite conversation with one stranger over a tiny table. 😂 Come meet the group, make some new friends, flirt with someone dressed as a vampire, and then disappear onto the dance floor.
We’ll start the night downstairs at Ringler’s for drinks, mingling, and introductions before heading upstairs.

One important warning: BUY YOUR TICKET EARLY. This isn’t one of those events where I’d confidently tell you to grab admission on the way over. The organizers say it has sold out every year, so if you know you want to come, don’t wait until Halloween-season FOMO kicks in.
