What we’re about
A space for all interested in the greater Portland area to discuss the music, history, and philosophy of the cult jazz bandleader, pianist, and eccentric and/or alien Sun Ra, a.k.a. Sonny Blount or Le Sony'r Ra. However, this group isn't exclusively devoted to Sun Ra and his music; anyone with an interest in progressive, experimental and exploratory forms of jazz and improvised music of all sorts are encouraged to join! Both musicians and non-musicians are welcome, as well as individuals of any demographic!
