Are you looking to give your portfolio site a facelift? Do you have an enthusiastic passion for design or front end web development? This is the event for you! February's pdxFLIT event is all about CSS. We'll be featuring two awesome speakers who will give you all of the information and expertise needed to take your CSS skills to the next level.

Our first speaker is Jordan Levine! Jordan is a front end web developer and is deeply involved with Women Who Code and PDXNode. Her talk is called, "A Crash Course On Getting Started with CSS Animations".

Scott Vandahey is our second speaker. He'll be teaching us about modular CSS in his talk, "What is Modular CSS?". Scott is a front end architect and a CSS specialist. Scott also curates Twitter groups like FridayFrontEnd and CSSBasics and has a book called "How to Find a Better Job In Tech".

Alchemy Code Labs has kindly offered to host us this month. Alchemy is a code school in downtown Portland that helps students prepare for a full-time role in software development by providing in-person education, mentorship, and career services to its students and graduates. Alchemy also plays a major role in supporting a variety of outstanding community organizations in Portland including Donut.js, Women Who Code Portland, and Latinx Tech PDX. Alchemy has cohorts starting in April and July and has a variety of resources available to help you decide if their program might be a fit for you. You can learn more about Alchemy's offerings at https://www.alchemycodelab.com/.

Refreshments will be provided by our wonderful sponsors at Thinkful. Thinkful is an online coding bootcamp that is helping the next generation of software developers transition into the tech industry. They host a variety of events in Portland and are always accepting new students. If you're interested in learning more, be sure to check out their site at https://www.thinkful.com/.

Are you interested in speaking at a future pdxFLIT event? We're always looking for speakers - no experience is necessary! If you're interested in giving a talk, please contact Katie or Masen at [masked]. Other event inquiries can be directed at either organizer as well.
