Toddler Nature Walk | NE PDX | Whitaker Ponds

Hosted By
Seymore G.

Details
- Description: Join local author Seymore Gulls and his 2 year old daughter on a very short walk in the urban oasis that is Whitaker Ponds.
We will meet for a relaxed morning of low-pressure nature observations while we try to keep our toddlers in a loose group. This event will hopefully evolve to replace our now missing Portland Library Wednesday morning Storytimes. - Who's invited?: Toddlers only (And their favorite adult.) Birth to 5ish? No sick kids please.
- Dress code: It's rain or shine so look at the forecast. Wear layers.
- Activities: .25 mile nature walk to a grassy field with some benches. We will at least do some birding by ear, smell some trees, look at ducks. I have kid binoculars to loan. I'll also read a short story.
- Walking and trail conditions - Flat/easy/short - It's a gentle unpaved trail with a few roots but most strollers can handle it.
- Distance to be walked: .25 mi each way
- Additional important information Bathroom is a portapotty of ill repute. Bring a drink and maybe a snack.
- Cost: Pay what you can/want. I don't want money to be a barrier to nature time, but meetup isn't free. Also, I don't want to get a real job. Recommended tip range: coffee to martini
Venmo @portlandbirder or cash are wonderful
