Portland Java User Community! We are having an in-person event on Tuesday, March 14th out of the Google offices in downtown Portland.
Join fellow Java enthusiasts for an hour of networking, learning, and planning for future events, over Pizzas and drinks.

7:00 - 7:05 - Call to order, Welcome, Introduction
7:05 - 7:30 - Microbenchmarking with JMH : Sean Sullivan
7:30 - 7:55 - Java in the Cloud - best practices: Biju Kunjummen
8:00 - 8:15 - Tear down

Location:
The event will be held at Google's office at 555 SW Morrison St Ste 500, Portland, OR 97204. Head to the 5th floor and check in with reception to receive your guest pass.

Sean’s speech:
Sean will present “Microbenchmarking with JMH”. We will look at example microbenchmarks and discuss how to incorporate JMH into your own projects.

Biju’s speech:
Biju will go over the current set of best practices in packaging and running a Java application in the Cloud - from running it in a vm to containers to serverless. Most of the talk will be cloud agnostic, so there should be something for everyone, demo’s will be on Google Cloud.
