What we’re about
Socialize with other Python programming enthusiasts, check out presentations on Pythonic topics, maybe participate in a code sprint or two, possibly work on projects and provide mutual technical support.
We typically meet the last Thursday of every month. There is a main talk between 30min - 1 hr followed by optional lightning talks. If you would are interested in being a main speaker at one of our events please reach out to one of our group organizers; Lalleh or Hannah.
We expect anyone attending our events to abide by the same Code of Conduct as PyCon US: https://policies.python.org/us.pycon.org/code-of-conduct/..
As a general rule, welcome everyone here (provided they abide by the Code of Conduct)!

Unleashing Home Assistant's Potential: Building Custom Devices and Python IntegrationsHome Assistant consolidates your smart home devices, enabling powerful automation and simplifying daily routines. But what happens when your device isn't "smart" or is more esoteric and lacks Home Assistant support? Maybe you can’t find something that does exactly what you want?
We’ll walk through how you can combine a bit of soldering and some YAML to create custom controls for your non-connected devices or build entirely new ones. We’ll wrap up by taking a look at the Python required to write your own Home Assistant integrations, allowing seamless control over novel hardware or services.
No worries if you’re new to Home Assistant, we'll begin with a concise overview and some of what it can do before delving into the fundamental concepts.
Join us to unlock the full potential of your smart home, or just to get out of the house and interact with other humans.
Lightning Talks:
Lightning talks are talks up to 5 minutes in length on any topic that might interest other Python people. See PyCon’s Lightning Talks description for more details.
