This month:
- LtSense: using Python to monitor Environmental Sensor Networks by Sumit Khanna
In 2011, I started working with graduate students at the University of Cincinnati to tackle the problem of monitoring storm water runoff. With a grant from the city, we set out to create open source tools for sensor networks. This presentation will be about LtSense, a tool used to handle data from environmental sensors. LtSense was written in Python and is designed to work with python-mini on OpenWRT router hardware with 8MB ~ 16MB of storage. It can read data from several different types of sensors, handle unreliable transport, and submit data to our BigSense web service for aggregation. This month's talk will be beginner and intermediate friendly. Thanks again to PNSQC (https://www.pnsqc.org) for sponsoring pizza. Join us afterward at Bailey's Taproom on Broadway to continue the discussion over a beverage.
