What we’re about
Welcome! This group is for LGBTQIA2S+ kids and their families who are looking to connect, build friendships, and find community in a safe and supportive space.
We know it can feel isolating for young people and families who don’t always see themselves reflected in schools or neighborhoods. This group is here to change that. Please know that safety is our number one priority. Locations of events will be private so that only members can see them. We may require a message or phone call with any members who request to join to keep our group a safe space. Meetups will be held only in a public space at this time.
💜 Who We Are
- Families with LGBTQIA2S+ kids of all ages
- Tweens, teens, and siblings who want to be included
- Parents and caregivers who want community too
- ⭐️ What We do
- Social meetups: game nights, park days, coffee shop hangouts, book swaps, and fun outings
- Family gatherings: picnics, potlucks, and inclusive holiday events
- Community building: a space to share resources, experiences, and encouragement
Most meetups will take place in family-friendly spaces around Lake Oswego, Portland, and nearby communities - parks, libraries, coffee shops, and community centers.
🌟 Our Values
- Safe, affirming, and inclusive space for all identities
- Respect for privacy - photos/info shared only with permission
- Kindness and acceptance first, always
Looking Ahead:
As our group grows, we may create smaller circles more focused on specific age ranges (like tweens, teens, or parent-only support) while still holding regular all-family gatherings.
✨ All kids welcome! LGBTQIA2S+ youth, tweens, teens, siblings, and families creating joyful community together.
Whether you’re new to the area, new to parenting an LGBTQIA2S+ child, or just looking for friends who “get it,” you and your family are welcome here.
Let’s create a joyful community together! 🌈
