I have a bit of information to pass on about the upcoming event and meetup.com in general.
First, the upcoming event is still at Ecotrust. It is not at Nedspace. Meetup.com emailed my fat-fingered change without my consent. I apologize for any confusion. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Second, all comments made on an event are sent out to everyone. You can turn these emails off by going to the event page and clicking the "Notifications" box at the top right of the comment section. Sadly, Meetup does not allow me to stop comments from going out to everyone, because I would (it's the second top requested issue http://meetup.uservoice.com/forums/37079-ideas-and-suggestions-for-meetup/suggestions/2566035-allow-organizers-to-moderate-comments-before-entir).
Since we have to live with this shortcoming in their software, I ask everyone to please be judicious when making a comment attached to an event. I'm thrilled at the excitement, but the message boards are better for long-running topics. And if you want to email me directly (please feel free to!), meetup has a page for that too http://www.meetup.com/pdxweb/suggestion/. But if you have a relevant comment to make about the event in question that pertains to everyone (and not just a question for me), please feel free to post it!
We're getting to be a pretty huge group, and I appreciate everyone's support, both on- and offline. I have a few ideas for the upcoming year, so look forward to one more email soon.
Thanks for all you do!
