From Inner Peace to World Peace
Practicing Peace
Practicing Peace Locally and Achieving Peace Globally
We are going to have a meeting to talk about peace promoting initiatives such as the Silent Peace Walk.
We want to get everyone's opinion about the effectiveness of getting to World Peace through Inner Peace.
We also want to ask how do you feel about making efforts to expand the Silent Peace Walk, and gather your ideas on how to do it.
Our objective is to contribute to reduce violence and conflict in the world through a practice that we call Silent Peace Walks. We believe that walking in silence for twenty minutes increase our Inner Peace. We believe that Inner Peace – the one that comes from practices such as silence, meditation, prayer, and silent walks -- is the seed for all true peace. Peaceful people are the ones who contribute the most for a peaceful world, the ones who ultimately will bring about World Peace. It s by cultivating Inner Peace that we are better able to respond, during tough times, with words and actions that bring about peace. Inner Peace is how we are going to get to World Peace.
We envision monthly Silent Walks for Peace happening all over the world in a couple of years. We also dream of the day in the year that will be known as the World Peace Walk Day. On that day people will dedicate 20 minutes to walk in silence for peace, connecting in spirit with Peace Walkers all over the world, and adding to the energy that will bring about a world where peace will prevail.
We hope to see you there. Bring your ideas. If you would like to do a presentation, let us know.
Maybe none of us will ever get actively involved in peace making or peace keeping among nations, but our commitment to peace will allow us to make better choices in our daily lives. Maybe we will not get actively involved in solving the major conflicts of the world, but, at least, we will not be creating new ones. Hopefully, we will be able to practice peace, and choose kinder and less violent responses in the challenging times of our lives. We will practice peace within our own circles of influence, and inevitably those circles will expand. We will teach our children, through our example, to quiet down their anger and make peaceful choices, and in doing so we will be creating the future peacemakers and peacekeepers of the world.
Remember! Each one of us is a source of peace. Each one of us is a bringer of peace.
“I am a Source of Peace. I am the Bringer of Peace. Today, I solemnly declare World Peace. That’s it! It’s done!”
~ Piero Falci
We hope to see you there. Bring your ideas. If you would like to do a presentation, let us know.
Peace be with you all.
Justice, Peace and Unity.
