One of the most imposing buildings in the whole YHA network recently taken into private ownership with many improvements in progress YHA Haworth is the ideal spot to provide our final weekend away of 2026 and our first of 2027.

Having spent many New Years Eve celebrations with the group over the years I can't think of a better way to see the New Year in and what a place to to do it.

Bronte Country as they call it in those parts is lovely including a long section of the Pennine Way and the ruins that are thought to have inspired Wuthering Heights. We shall even sort out a New Years Day Challenge Walk for those who must but plenty of walking at every level from rehab to challenging.

Thursday arrival at our accommodation is from anytime after 5pm but we will lay on a bonus walk for those who can arrive in the area for likely 10:30am to ensure we make the best of the day.

Thursday Night is New Years Eve so we have a hot and cold buffet of party food in mind with plenty of options and a party into the wee hours (earplugs essential for party poopers) . We shall be rustling up another delicious hot meal for Friday night with vegetarian option and Saturday too for those who are staying over until Sunday (three nights) for which there is no extra charge.

Help yourself breakfasts and lunch packups are provided as is evening food Friday and Saturdays night but feel free to bring desserts, cakes and other goodies to share as well as your own drinks. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday routes and options will be discussed with everyone on arrival to ensure we are meeting overall expectations but there is loads to choose from.

This is intended to be a sociable event all weekend so expect some party music and if you play a musical instrument or can provide some other entertainment for us feel free.

Accommodation is single sex bunk rooms of a variety of sizes with full bedding provided but not towels.

A non-refundable deposit of £35 per person is payable when you book normally via Meetup, to which must be added Meetup booking fees. A balance of £95 per person will be payable via BACS (as below) 12 weeks before the event start date being 8th October 2026.

You can also pay deposit and balance together through BACS at the outset without booking fees but please advise us that you are doing this so we can add you to the event participant list manually.

If you have to cancel with more than 28 clear days notice the full value of the balance payment will be refunded. The deposit value will always be non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or postponed. No refunds will be provided to those cancelling with less than 28 clear days notice. ("clear" means does not include event start date or cancellation date!

It would not be possible to provide the range of events we do or to cover the cost of insurance and now increasing Meetup fees if we were not a subscription based group which means paying an annual subscription of £10pa or a Life Membership subscription in which case further payments are not necessary.

If attending our weekends away as an unpaid or lapsed subscriber or as a non member guest you are required to pay an additional £10 when balances become due. No exceptions!
