Remembrance Hike for Shafiq: Two Rivers Lake in RMNP
Details
Please only sign up for this event if you have hiked or climbed with Shafiq.
(General hikes will be posted soon.)
Following the hike, we will optionally visit Nepal’s Café for lunch. If you plan to join for lunch, please sign up for the separate lunch event so we can keep an accurate headcount.
We have lost a shining light in our group and in the broader community. This gathering is a chance to spend time together doing things Shafiq loved—moving through the Rocky Mountains he cherished, and sharing a meal at a restaurant he frequented.
Two Rivers Lake sits off an unmarked trail on the way to Lake Helene from Bear Lake in RMNP. The views and atmosphere can feel almost spiritual, making it a fitting place to be together in remembrance of Shafiq. We may also take a few quiet minutes for anyone who wishes to reflect alone. We’ll hike up and down as a group at a relaxed, conversational pace.
