Black lake is situated at the foot of majestic McHenry's Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. The trek takes us from Glacier Gorge Trailhead through a forested trail past Alberta Falls and picturesque Mills and Jewel lakes. From there we continue to climb steadily until we emerge from the trees near frozen Ribbon Falls. Black Lake is exposed above trees, surrounded by a stunning cirque. If time permits we will walk above the lake to see the frozen blue waterfall.
