Duration: 30 minutes including 5 minutes for Q&A
The original concept of Hexagonal Architecture was introduced by Alistair Cockburn in 2005, but since then it has evolved on the shoulders of giants including Jeffrey Palermo and everyone's favourite Robert C "Uncle Bob" Martin. But what many people don’t know is how this architecture and those who have been involved with it were fundamental to many of the paradigms and patterns that are still in use today.
The intention of this talk is to give you a brief history of how this architecture came to be, as well as provide an overview of the key concepts incorporated within it. While a lot of this information may already be known to those interested by software architecture, I hope that by re-examining its origins it might just spark a renewed dedication to good clean application architecture in our working lives.
