## This Month's Theme: Spill the Tea
250 years ago, Rhode Islanders gathered in Market Square to burn tea in protest, an act of rebellion that helped spark a revolution. This June, we return to that same spot to Spill the Tea. From gossip to resistance, revelation to real talk, we’re leaning into the stories that stir things up.
As we approach America's 250th anniversary and the many histories held by one nation, we're teaming up with the RI Center for the Book, an org that celebrates the art and heritage of reading, writing, making, and sharing books.

PechaKucha Providence is built and sustained by our community.
### What is PechaKucha?
If you haven't heard of this global yet unpronounceable phenomenon, PechaKucha is a monthly format for sharing ideas in which presenters are allotted 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide. Simply put: it's 6 minutes and 40 seconds of show and tell for grown-ups. It began in Tokyo in 2003, has since spread to over 1,200 cities worldwide, and first landed in Providence in March of 2009. To the best of our knowledge, Providence is the only chapter in the entire world that hosts a PechaKucha Night every month of the year.
