Black River State Park! Kingstree to the Meadows
Details
Join us for a day of paddling! We're paddling a section of Black River from Kingstree to the new Black River State Park Meadows Landing.
This paddle is approximately 11 river miles. Expect to be on the water until 3-4 PM. This is a moderate to strenuous paddle. Beginner-friendly as long as you're comfortable in a boat for 4-5 hours of paddling. We'll break frequently to stretch our legs and a longer break for lunch!
We'll meet at the Meadows at 8:15 AM. Please come prepared with your paddling gear (kayak/canoe, PFD, paddle, etc). Wear appropriate clothing that can get wet and a little muddy! Please bring a lunch, plenty of water, a towel, and any other gear you need to be on the water.
If water conditions are low or the weather isn't looking great, we can modify the trip to do a shorter out-and-back paddle from the Meadows and take more time to enjoy the park. And possibly a barbeque lunch at Coopers Country Store!
The Meadows is our state's newest state park! It has a beautiful pavilion, restrooms, and walking trails. It's also a short drive from Coopers.
