Have the world events gotten you down and you feel compelled to create through creative writing?

BIPOC Sanctuary for Writers is creative writing workshop designed specifically for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color seeking a supportive and respectful space to explore storytelling, reflection, and creative expression.
The workshop creates a safe and welcoming environment where participants can write freely about experiences and themes that shape many BIPOC lives and histories, including immigration, racism, colonialism, militarism, displacement, and intergenerational experiences. Participants may also explore questions of identity, belonging, culture, and memory through poetry, short reflections, narrative fragments, or dialogue-based storytelling.

Through guided prompts, quiet writing time, and optional sharing, the workshop encourages writers to develop confidence in their voices while connecting with others who may share overlapping histories and perspectives.

"This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal." ~ Toni Morrison
