About us
Peña Manantial is more than a concert series. A peña is a gathering place—a community built around music, art, conversation, food, friendship and culture. Alongside live music, we hope to make room for poetry, visual art, storytelling and other forms of creative expression that reflect the diverse experiences of our communities.
We also believe art and music can help build understanding and solidarity. Our Peña will be a welcoming space for immigrants and their families and for celebrating the many cultures and journeys that make up our Latin American community. We hope to support immigrant artists, share their stories and music, and create opportunities for people from different generations and backgrounds to know one another.
An important part of our vision is bringing generations together—connecting veteran musicians and culture-bearers with talented young and emerging artists. We want traditions to be shared and preserved, while giving younger musicians the freedom and encouragement to carry them forward in new ways.
Each month will feature a musical group or invited artists for an intimate live performance. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and a modest cover charge will help ensure that the musicians are paid for their work.
Musicians, artists and music lovers are all welcome. Come listen, eat, meet people, discover artists, exchange ideas and help us create a vibrant, multigenerational home for Spanish and Latin American music and culture in the East Bay. Bay.
