Pence Adult Art Programs

The Pence’s 6-session Healing Arts workshop uses art as a healing language for those experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one. Through the process of art making, participants will have opportunities for discussion, education, and connecting with peers in a safe and supportive space in the Pence Learning Center under the guidance of facilitators Amy Vidra and Lyndsey Rocca.

REGISTRATION ONLINE IS REQUIRED IN ADVANCE through the Pence Gallery's website, and space is limited to the first 8 participants who register. Participants must be 18 or older, and no art experience is necessary. This program is generously sponsored by Bob & Joanne Andresen.

Healing Arts 6-Session Workshop
Fridays, 10-11:45 AM | Mar. 13, 20, 27 & Apr. 3, 10, 17
$25 Members, $35 Non-Members (all materials included)

Under the guidance of artist Sara Post, students will explore the ins and out of gel printing. Participants will experiment with layering, masks, stencils, and other gel printing techniques, as well as work with a variety of papers. Gel prints, beautiful in themselves, are also a wonderful way to make handmade papers for collage or under layers for painting. Students will leave this class with a portfolio of prints to display on their own or to use in making other artworks.

Part of the Pence's Healing Arts Program and run by facilitator Amy Vidra, this one-time workshop focuses more broadly on themes related to depression, anxiety, or major life changes. Through the process of art making, participants will have opportunities for discussion, education, and connecting with peers in a safe and supportive space.
