Okanagan Beach Drumming Circle (Penticton)
Details
Join a warm, welcoming community drum circle by the stone circles in Lakawana park by Okanagan beach in Penticton. We meet Thursdays, 5:30–7:30 PM (weather permitting) to enjoy simple grooves, call-and-response, and free-flow rhythms by the lake.
All skill levels welcome—truly.
Never drummed before? Perfect. Seasoned player? Fantastic. Bring a drum or any rhythm maker (djembe, bongos, cajón, shakers, tambourine, claves—even a bucket). Listeners and hand-clappers are part of the music too and add their heartbeat to the circle
What to bring
- Your drum and a portable chair (or sit on the stones)
- Optional: small percussion to share water, and layers for the evening breeze
What to expect
- Easy, inclusive rhythms—no instruction required
- Space for beginners, space for solos, and lots of listening
- Family-friendly, respectful vibe
- Free community gathering
Community guidelines
- Be kind, listen and leave space for others
- Keep it acoustic
- Pack out what you pack in; we’ll leave the park cleaner than we found it
We’ll post updates on the event page if the weather looks doubtful. If you don't see anybody you're the first one and should just start to drum your rythm - see you there
