This is a friendly, informal group for anyone who enjoys life in Riga — locals, expats, students, long-timers, or those who’ve only just arrived.
We meet to share stories, swap tips, and just enjoy good company - and, first and foremost, simply to meet!
There’s no agenda, but we will help you break the ice. Come as you are, bring a friend, and (hopefully) leave with a few new ones.

Daytrip to the Mangaļsala Shipwreck
Centrālā stacija, Riga, Ce, LVMeeting at 11:20 on Saturday at the Laima shop & Ticket Offices area of the central railway station. We are taking the 11:38 train to Skulte, and will get off at Vecaķi. Please arrange for your own ticket.
You might have seen recent photos of the frozen seaside and the famous Lady Kathleen / Lady Cotlin shipwreck near the Mangaļsala Pier.
On this daytrip we will venture out to Vecaķi and walk by the seaside to the Mangaļsala Pier. The path will most likely be frozen and slippery. If possible and safe, we will get close to the shipwreck as well. Approaching the shipwreck might be unsafe and it is your own responsibility.
The weather is expected to be cold and appropriate clothing and bringing hot drinks are advised. The walking distance is about 12 km from the Vecaķi train station to the Pier and then to the terminal of Bus 24. We will take Bus 24 to return to the centre.
Everyone is welcome to join.

First Friday with People in Riga
The Snuggest Gastro&Pub, Zirgu iela 3, Riga, LVJoin us on the first Friday to meet people in Riga! Always on the first Friday of every month, so it’s easy to remember.
This is a friendly, informal evening where locals, expats, students, and newcomers meet, mingle, or just come to wind down and enjoy good company.
Join us and share your stories, chat with others, make new friends and acquaintances.- A mix of locals, fresh arrivals, and seasoned expats.
- No professional networking pressure — purely social. We will of course help you break the ice!
- When: First Friday of each month, i.e. March 6, 2026, at 7pm
- Ending: while the duration is announced to be 2 hours, the party usually lasts longer
- Where: The Snuggest, Zirgu iela 3
- Prices: the event itself is free of charge, but please get a drink or a meal at the bar.
Age limit: 18 and older. Photos of participants might be taken at the event and posted publicly to social media, including but not limited to meetup.com. By joining the event, you accept this condition.
