Storytelling for Product

People of Product is back! Are you ready for our first event of 2023?

Do key words like “product development”, “engineering” and “start ups” sound like your cup of tea? Then this is the space for you.

People of Product (PoP) is a community for those in the product space that want to learn from and connect with others.

We run quarterly events at the Method Recruitment office in the CBD of Melbourne with top notch speakers and aim to create a community that thrives on collaboration, finding new solutions, creating new ideas; learning and of course making new friends!

Date: Thursday, April 27th 2022
Time: 6pm – 8pm
Theme: "Storytelling"
Location: Method’s offices, level 11: 179 Queen St Melbourne 3000

Format of night:
6 – 6.30pm: Guests arrive; Networking; Pizza/Drinks
6.30pm – 7.10pm: Speakers present, 10 – 20 mins each (max)
7.10pm – 7.40pm: Panel Discussions between guests & speakers. Fireside Q&A style.
7.40pm – close: Guests welcome to have more drinks; network etc.

Our speakers
Rebecca Monaghan
Rebecca has been designing web and mobile applications for specialised industries like Utilities, Supply Chain and Geospatial as well as B2B and B2C e-commerce platforms for 12+ years. With her background in Art and graphic design, she uses drawing in various forms to tell stories of desired user experiences and to communicate complex ideas simply. She has found visual storytelling is the most effective way to get product teams and stakeholders on the same page. Rebecca's last gig was Head of Human Centred Design at Ausnet Services and she is now consulting in UX Design and HCD.

Josh Centner
Josh combines his years of experience in Agile, Lean Startups and Design Thinking to develop and iterate on a customised approach for the organisations he works with. Combine this with his deep understanding on the importance of storytelling, and you have a real product pro. His resume doesn't lie - he's bloody good at it. Currently active as Principal Product Manager at no other than SEEK, Josh is excited to share his knowledge and experience with you.
