Does small talk bore the living hell out of you? Me too. That’s why I’ve created an intentional space to allow each other to open up and have greater access to who we really are. This is an “all vibes allowed” space where we can have real conversations about what matters most to us. As the event winds down, you’ll get the opportunity to create follow-up plans with those you want to see again if they consent.

A survey is required to be taken by each attendee at least 6 hours prior to the event starting. This survey builds the entire foundation of the event. In the survey, I will be evaluating individuals based on what they find important, rather than considering factors such as gender, age, religion, political affiliation, or other personal attributes. I will then group you up with people that had similar survey results. You may be grouped up with people from all walks of life in this event.

This is an event for folks who:

• Are trying to build foundations of developing deep, reliable platonic friendships.
• Have the time and energy to put toward new friends.
• Are on a journey of practicing being social, practicing rejection, or opening up more.
• Will not ghost others and can communicate what they need.
• Prioritize in-person connections over digital ones.
• Will be in Austin for the foreseeable future.

Process after ticket purchase:

You: Purchase a ticket (https://events.humanitix.com/peoplepairing).
Me: I will send you a link to the survey by email around 2 days before the event starts (check Junk folders).
You: Complete the survey at least 6 hours prior to the event starting. The survey takes an average of 30 minutes to complete and could take you much longer depending on how tough it is for you. If you completed the survey in the last few months, you do not need to retake it.
You + me: Show up at the event. I will group you up and match you with those who had similar survey results. Those who do not complete the survey will not be able to be seated.

Preparations:
1. Bring a notebook and pen.
2. Have a curious attitude about others.
3. Be prepared to discuss, in detail, why you’ve been put on this Earth and what you would die for.

Rules:
1. Do not check your phone or smart watch for the duration of the event as a courtesy to others. Phones need to be put on silent.
2. No open containers. Please bring a water bottle.
3. Do not be drunk or high. Do not bring alcohol, vape products, cigarettes, or drugs to the event.
4. This is a safe space to talk about yourself. Don't leave our space and tell others about the personal details of someone you met at this event.
5. Limit small talk as much as possible. Try to ask "why" questions.
6. If you are sick, please don't come.
7. No pets are allowed in the event space.
8. You and anyone you purchase tickets for must be 18+.
9. Be on time. Doors will open at 7pm. Check-in ends at 7:10. Event starts at 7:15pm
