Integrating Load Test Scripts to CI with Taurus and Jenkins on AWS

In the DevOps era, being able to automate performance testing provides teams with many advantages. Additionally, the adoption of a Shift Left strategy, with more frequent tests and run earlier in the development cycle, increases the need for developers (not just traditional QA professionals) to have the knowledge and tools needed to be able to run these tests.

While open source load testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, and others are great, they each have a steep learning curve and using these tools as part of Continuous Integration makes it even more challenging.

Guy Salton, Senior Professional Services Engineer ar CA BlazeMeter, will present an interactive session on Taurus, an open source test automation tool designed for developers, and that helps to overcome numerous testing challenges. He’ll show how to:

• Easily create and run any open-source load test scripts using Taurus

• Leverage AWS EC2 to scale tests to any desired level of traffic, by spinning up thousands of AWS cloud instances within minutes

• Integrate load test scripts to CI with Taurus and Jenkins

Container-based Microservices DevOps in AWS - How Perfecto Did it and What We Learned So Far

We will also hear from Moshe Ben Shoham, System Architect at Perfecto, who will share the evolution of Perfecto's microservices architecture in AWS.

Moving an entire dev organization from developing monolith servers in a self-hosted DC to an agile organization of autonomous teams developing microservices in the cloud is not an easy task. You have a lot to catch up with. In this talk, Moshe will share how Perfecto started, what has changed since and where they are now. He will discuss some of the (good and bad) decisions they took, lessons learned in the process and where they're heading next.
