Period Drama Club

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a period drama fan in possession of a love for romance, rich settings, and compelling characters must be in want of society to share it with. 🩷

This is a relaxed, friendly meetup for anyone who adores period dramas, whether you’re here for the romance, the history, the storytelling, or simply to share what you love about your favourite characters and moments.

Each month, we’ll pick a period drama (film or TV) as our theme. Watch it in your own time, then join us in person for a cosy, thoughtful, and fun discussion. Many of our picks will be based on books, so there’s always room to bring in literary insights.

We’ll explore adaptations of beloved classic works by Austen, the Brontës, Dickens, Eliot, Gaskell, and more, alongside other historical fiction and original stories inspired by historical periods, events, and figures.
