About us

Permaculture Matters is a local collective of teachers and facilitators based in the Blue Mountains, bringing people together around permaculture, community, and practical skills for living well on this planet.

We host regular monthly gatherings, free info sessions, and hands-on community workshops that explore permaculture as both a design system and a way of relating to land, food, people, and place. Our events are designed to be accessible, thoughtful, and welcoming, whether you’re completely new to permaculture or already deep in the practice.

Alongside our community events, we offer a certified Permaculture Design Course (PDC), facilitated by experienced local educators. Our courses and workshops blend theory with real-world application, shared learning, and connection, including opportunities to learn from each other’s projects and lived experience.

Permaculture Matters is about learning together, building resilience, and strengthening local community. You don’t need land, prior knowledge, or big plans, just curiosity and a willingness to show up.

If you’re interested in growing food, caring for Country, regenerative living, or finding community through meaningful learning, you’re very welcome here.
