Personal Cosmology Discussion Group

This is an informal, open-ended, open-minded discussion for individuals who want to talk about metaphysics, human nature and potential, spiritual experience, human evolution/paradigm change, idealism, and vision in a way that doesn't rely on religious traditions, frameworks, or language. As there are many topics that fall under the aforementioned categories, there is room for the discussion to go into a number of directions, and the hope is that the discussion will move organically. Sharing of personal experience is encouraged. The moderator and participants are free to initiate a talking point. The topics of consciousness, human potential, personal experience of inner realities, and the intersection of science and mysticism may be suggested for the discussion. But, below is a somewhat elaborate set of talking point notes that I've assembled as a general framework for the life of this group.

Overarching themes:
Discussing the structure & framework of ideas, beliefs, actions & behaviors that foster alignment with higher self, consciousness, or soul, and awareness of true nature.
Paradigm change and evolution on individual and societal levels.
Challenging paradigms and belief systems.
The various facets and implications of Idealism.
The nature of reality, or, metaphysics.
Non-religious orientation around virtue, ethics, subjective experience, intuition, infinity, meaning.
The so-called “mystical experience” and the experience of inner realities, other dimensions, or other planes of existence.
The multi-dimensional nature of reality and consciousness. Intersecting/interacting with “soul” or “higher self.”
The experience of inner illumination.
Human nature: discussing human nature as a conceptualization that includes, but also extends beyond, what has thus far been observed or defined regarding psychology, corporeality, behavior, convention, and capability.
Applying the explorer/experimenter/open-minded attitude to gaining greater awareness of human consciousness and the human psyche.
Human potential: sharing uplifting, optimistic, and imaginative visions for humanity (including, enlightenment as the norm, or, a species of enlightened beings).
Stepping outside of the box, so to speak, to consider human potential for growth, achievement, discovery, etc.
How actions & behaviors, mental health, emotional health, energy, psychology, logic & reason, beliefs, thoughts, and physical health intersect with the idea of enlightenment.

Tone and group norms:
--opportunity to share and discuss individual experiences with “mysticism” and inner realities, or to stimulate such experiences
--firmly aligned with science, firmly unassociated with religion or spiritual dogma.
--meant to have a therapeutic, uplifting, and stimulating affect for participants
--exploring answers to the fundamental question, What Is?
--valuing the appropriate application of skepticism, understanding the importance of critical thinking and evidence (including subjective experience and empirical evidence)
--seeking common understanding, accepting difference
