1. 'Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead', by Olga Tokarczuk
2. 'Convenience Store Woman', by Sayaka Murata.
The lead female characters In both books are to a large extent social outsiders, highly resistant to mainstream social norms, but in very different ways.
