Dunder Magic
by Sam Bishop
Python’s so-called magic (or “dunder”) methods power everything from a + b, to context managers and the with statements. Yet many developers treat them like arcane spells... useful, but mysterious. I'll be demystifing these double underscore methods by showing what dunder methods are, how Python uses them behind the scenes, and how you can implement them responsibly in your own own classes to make them more Pythonic and easy to use.
Sam is a professional software developer and snake charmer a.k.a. Python problem solver... Amateur content creator and rocket scientist. who likes working on their software and hardware projects, playing games and 3D printing things.
