Optus to Heirisson Island via Boorloo Br & Matagarup Br. loop (7km)

Join us for this pleasant Sunday 7km walk near the city. The weather is forecast to be brilliant with sunshine and temperatures between 10°C to 16°C!!

MeetUp at the eastern end of the Matagarup Bridge.
Crossing the bridge we walk around the north and south side of Heirisson Is. including the kangaroo enclosure and the statue of Yagan. We return via the Boorloo Bridge back to the Optus for a coffee at the Mizzica Mangiatoria Café. I'll be testing you afterwards to see if you can remember the name....bonus if you can tell me what the name means. 😀

Where: Eastern end of the Matagarup Bridge (Click on map for the exact meeting point)
Parking: There is plenty of free parking at the Camfield Carpark.
Distance: 7km
Difficulty: Flat terrain & mainly bitumen paths. Expect an easy walk but at a reasonable pace (5.5-6km/h) We should complete the walk in about 1hr 30 minutes.
What to bring: Water, good walking shoes, hat & sunscreen. Wet weather gear? Nah, I don't think so!!!
Toilets: At the Optus Stadium, Burswood Gardens & Mizzica.
Café after the walk: A lovely chat and cuppa at the Mizzica Mangiatoria near the mini golf course. Let's give this place a chance and see if we should come back!
