Did the Controls Hold? Lessons from Red Teaming

Navitas has spent the past several years developing its security capability, including the use of red teaming to test its environment against realistic attack scenarios and identify where controls, processes and assumptions need to improve.

In this session, the Navitas Global CISO will unpack two red team exercises in detail: what the red team attempted, how the scenarios unfolded, and the Microsoft security capabilities and controls that helped detect, contain or limit the potential impact.

For each exercise, we’ll look at what worked, what could have worked better, and what Navitas changed as a result.

This is intended to be an interactive session, with plenty of opportunity for questions, discussion and shared experiences from the room. To support an open and candid conversation, the session will be held under the Chatham House Rule and will not be recorded.

Rather than simply demonstrating what an attacker can do, this session looks at the real value of red teaming: validating whether your security controls perform as expected when they are put under pressure and using the results to make the environment stronger.
