Welcome to the Perth Painting Meetup Group! This group is perfect for all painting enthusiasts in the Perth area who have a passion for oil painting. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn new techniques or an experienced painter wanting to connect with like-minded individuals, this group is the place for you. Join us for meetups where we explore different painting styles, share tips and tricks, and encourage each other's creativity. We offer two distinct series of workshops to suit your learning needs:
- Principles of Painting:
- Ideal for beginners
- Covers essential techniques and foundational knowledge
- Topics include brush types, canvas selection, the colour wheel, and basic painting skills
- Grow in Painting:
- Perfect for those who have completed the Principles of Painting series or have basic painting experience
- Focuses on painting techniques and painting exploration
- Topics include practice, practice, and more practice of colour mixing, creating textures, and developing your unique style with lots of tips and tricks during your painting journey
Each series consists of multiple sessions with a maximum of six attendees per session, ensuring personalised guidance and support.
About Our Group
Our group meets regularly to paint, share ideas, and learn from each other. We organize various activities, including plein air painting sessions, and workshops. Our goal is to foster a friendly and encouraging environment where everyone can grow as an artist and enjoy the creative process.
To keep the costs low, Sia (the group organiser) has dedicated a part of his home for holding the workshops whenever the Perth weather isn't suitable for outdoor painting gatherings. Once the weather gets better, we’ll have regular meetups at parks and other public places to enjoy plein air painting. If you can't attend the in-person classes, he also offers online classes here: https://classbento.com.au/w/5s3y. If you prefer your painting class to be held in a commercial art studio or venue, please consider a higher budget, as this meetup group may not be suitable for you.
