The game goes by the name Boules in France. There is equipment (boules) you can use and we will teach new folks the game. Play starts at 1 pm on the third Saturday of each month at Nevin Park Petanque Courts in Charlotte NC. If you are new to petanque, then come at 9:30 am and get a short lesson before regular play starts. We would love to meet you. Please call if you have a larger group to assure we have enough equipment and folks to teach.

Nevin Park Petanque Courts are located off the parking lot going to the left at the second intersection when driving into the park. The courts are in the field past the play equipment. This link shows exactly where courts are in the park https://maps.app.goo.gl/o4zyMfjDQAfX9yHVA if in doubt. Contact us via MeetUp to confirm play if weather is a concern.

We are affiliated with Carolina Petanque. Playing Petanque at locations throughout the Carolinas. There is no cost or requirement to join. Everyone is welcome.

Overview of game... In pétanque the objective is to score points by having boules closer to the target than the opponent after all boules have been thrown. This is achieved by throwing or rolling boules closer to the small target ball, officially called a jack but known colloquially as a cochonnet, or by hitting the opponents' boules away from the target, while standing inside a circle with both feet on the ground. The team closest to the target ball gets a point for each ball (boule) they have closer than the opposing team.
