Extremes of Politics - A talk by Graham Livingstone

Hosted By
Jon S.

Details
This month we are delighted to host Peterborough Humanist member Graham Livingstone who will be talking about his personal experience of growing up in a white dissident family during the apartheid years in South Africa. Graham will be describing how, while the situation was utterly appalling, the apartheid government never actually crossed the dangerous line between authoritarianism and totalitarianism. He will also discuss how Nelson Mandela not only did much to prevent racial massacre but also averted a military coup.
As usual the main topic will be followed by hot beverages, yummy biscuits and some friendly chat. We hope you can join us.
