Kayaking Indian River from Douro Park South

Hi, weather forecast for Sunday morning looks good so I want to get out on the water for a paddle. This is quite an easy paddle with a nice launch spot. Note I will be launching from Douro Park south not north - if you can see soccer pitch as you drive in you are on the wrong side. Go out of the parking lot and over the bridge to the next entrance. Location is about a 30 min drive form Ptbo.

Aim is to take a leisurely paddle for about an hour maybe two depending on our speed - up to the 'rapids' and back. As we paddle back from the rapids you have the option of getting out at the launch site or paddling a bit further and then back. You may want to consider bug spray, dressing appropriately for being exposed to the weather, and bring something to drink.

Please note I am not a qualified kayak instructor or expedition leader so your attendance is at your own risk with the expectation that you have your own equipment, are physically capable of paddling for about an hour and can swim/will wear a PFD if you can't.

I do this paddle quite a bit just to chill out, so no panic if you cant make Sunday. There will be other opportunities to do this one.
