Long Lake Kawartha Highlands 1

Long Lake, Kawartha Highlands is a “majestic” paddle. For much of the paddle, the north shore of the lake features 200 foot vertical granite shoreline, surrounded by coniferous and deciduous forests.

Long Lake is frequently paddled/canoes by campers heading out to the interior of the park.

Note, I have paddled this lake once before, so I’m no “expert”. I mention this because questions of “campsites” or distance, or effort levels should not be based on my limited experience paddling the route,

I know several of our members hold this lake in very high esteem.

For those withour boats, Long Lake Lodge rents kayaks, $ 55.00 per day, but boats must be back by 4:30 pm.

Please note, start/end times are subject to revision, should a later start, or later end be the group’s preference.

With regard to any novice/intermediate paddlers, anyone turning around “early” will be required to find a “partner” to paddle back with.
